Its been a very busy day for me today..it doesn't really happen often off late, so i won't be complaining! Just missed blogging & thought will post a easy breezy one before i call it a day!
Ingredients
1. Yellow lentils/Pigeon peas/Tuval dal - 1/4 cup
2. Red Chillies - 3-4
3. Coconut - 2-3tbsp (optional)
4. Oil - 1-2 tsp
5. Salt - to taste
Preparation Time!!
1. Take a pan, add oil. Once warm, add the lentils, red chillies & sauté till light brown
2. Remove of flame, cool it & blend it with coconut & water to make a fine thick paste
Told you this was super easy & breezy! The thogayal/chutney is supposed to be thick like a dip & not watery like a chutney :)..Serve with rice & ghee and its divine!
Pointers
*You could skip the coconut totally! It would be a spicier version & that's how my amma would make and its a must, when we have Pepper Sambhar (Molagae Kozhambu)..
In my MIL's place, they add coconut, so i keep yo-yo ing between the two methods :)
Serving : 2
Duration : 15 minutes
