Let me go ahead & say the baked one tastes even better.. Trust me, people i am serious :)..Ofcourse, kids can be allowed the occasional fried options.. so end of the day, its your call :D ( I don't want to be the bad akka (can't get myself to think as aunty :P) who makes sinful tasty but unhealthy snacks)
Ingredients
1. Onion - 1/4 cup
2. Tomato - 1
3. Potato - 1 small
4. Sour cream - 3tsp
5. Coriander-cumin powder - 1tsp
6.Pepper powder - 1/2 tsp
7. Mint leaves - a fistful
8. Red chilli powder - 1/2tsp
9. Salt - to taste
10. Olive Oil - 2tsp
11. Bread Slices - 6 (I used Sour Dough French Bread)
12. A little ghee - for brushing the bread
Preparation Time!!
1. In a pan, add oil and once warm, add finely chopped onions and saute till light brown. Then add finely chopped tomato and mix well
2. Cook till tomatoes become mushy.Add the coriander-cumin powder, chilli & pepper powder, salt and mint leaves. Add sour cream and mix well
3. Mix well, then add boiled, peeled & mashed potato and mix well to form the stuffing
4. Take a bread slice, cut the edges out & flatten it using a roll-in pin. Sprinkle water on the bread and then place stuffing over the length of the bread and roll it firmly.
5. Pre-heat oven to 400F and then brush the rolls with little butter and bake for 20 minutes till they turn a light shade of brown.. Enjoy with sauce/ketchup :)
I fried one & baked the rest to see how the difference & i have already old you my verdict :).. This stuffing came in handy to make around 6 rolls :)
You could go for white plain bread.. personally feel, brown bread & baked is too much of an health overdose, esp for kids ;)
Oh! These make great party appetizers too!!
