Kodbale

Kodbale is a Karnataka snack and an absolute favorite! Its pronounced as 'Code' Ba-le :).. I guess it has the shape of cow horn and when joined resembles a bangle, hence the name!! When i saw the  Valli's ICC announcement for this month ( I know, she has been kind enough to still have me as a part of the group :)), it got me excited!!

Soya Burger

This time for Blog Hop, my partner was Deeksha! She is a versatile blogger, been blogging for some years now & does it in two languages too..There were a couple of things i narrowed down on but then finally choose Soya burger.. I had a packet of Soya & have been waiting to use them but somehow been delaying it.. I am not a big fan of Soya but S loves it & thought this would be a good time to make some healthy snack & we all love burgers don't we :)

Sabudhana Vada/Javarassi Vadai

Sabudhana / Javarassi is not used a lot in my house..We are not a big fan of sabudhana upma..dont mind having it, once in two months maybe :D , as papads i always prefer koozhu vathala ( a fritter made of flour) more.. IN my MIL's place they make Sabudhana Koozhu, which S loves a lot & can have bowls of it!! The only form i love this is in the form of a vada..

Mangalore Bajji

I have no clue as to why this called so...despite the name, i love this one. This is also called Maida Kunuku, curd bajji! My paati would do this for me every time, i went to visit her or whenever i really felt like eating something nice :).. she knew what i was hinting at :D..We would not have a stock of maida at home, (its not healthy soo...mom's command), so i would just go get a lil stock from shop & come! I was missing my home and thinking about everything ..then decided i would do this..

Khaara Paara

Khaara means spicy in Kannada and Paara, i don't know the meaning! I love shakar paara and in blore there is a place called subbamma angadi, where you would get the spiciest khaara paara and i love it! No, i didn't re-create it, he grinds chillies to the paara is my guess. Though i wanted to do that, i ran out of green chillies :(, so made a much milder of the same.. Nevertheless, loved it :D

Black Chickpea Sundal

Sundal is actually a very good snack option. Mostly done during navrathri, each day  different sundals are done, along with a sweet and is served to everyone who comes to see gollu. This black chickpea sundal is given as prasadham in most of the Pulayar (Lord Ganesh) temples ( at least in blore temples :)). Think its his fav, coz i have noticed even during Vinayaka Charturti, amma would do it along with kozhakattais. This is quick, easy, nutritious and simple preparation!

Corn Kebab

I love Corn :)! Be it any form, as a bhutta or the boiled one which my mom prefers or just as sweet corn mixed with butter and spices..i infact make it a point to include it in subzi's, in pulao.. I think its got to do with the fact that i love colorful dishes :)..Chanced upon this Tarla Dalal's recipe for a evening snack. This is quick to make, tastes great too!
