Chocolate Cornets

This time for Gayatri's Eggless Baking we had to make Chocolate Cornets! This desert is something which i love & have been gorging on it, without knowing what the name was :).. Really!! For me its been the long cone dessert with the filling! S gets these from a bakery near his office & they are heavenly. You get to enjoy it with two fillings.. one chocolate & the other one being a cream filling..

I have tasted this snack just once in my life & i loved every bit of it... I had been to Hyd for just 2 days to attend an interview & my attai(aunt) was sweet enough to show me around.. Ya one crazy day, with an interview scheduled the next day, i was out shopping in Charminar for bangles, stone decorated sandals , Narayanpet saree.. 

Baked Bread Rolls

This one will be a definite hit with Kids..Ya, for once i can be super sure :).. For day 4 of BM 14 , i choose Baked Bread Rolls! Bread rolls are always so tasty.. that's a different thing, they are fried..Undoubtedly, high calorie dish are super tasty and win hands down..but then this one, as a baked dish tastes great! 

Eggless Coconut Cake

In Feb, i joined a group called 'Eggless Baking' by Gayatri..The primary reason why i joined this group, apart from my love for baking, is to learn & try out varieties in eggless baking..Its a lil weird..i don't include egg as a part of my diet, but i eat cakes/pastries which has egg in them :D, but when i bake at home i don't use them!! The reason why i don't use them at home is..i always think i should be able to prepare this for my family ( my parents, inlaws), who don't have egg!

This is my first Daring Baker's Challenge #1 and I was quite apprehensive on what the challenge would be.. i am taking my baby steps towards baking & in the new found enthusiasm, went ahead & joined it and later was apprehensive on what would i have to do.. can i pull it off!! So, when this challenge came through, i was thrilled :).. Bcoz it was like the first step..to start of a little slow & over a period of time, learn more & get adventurous..

Choco-chip Biscuits

I just completed one leg of the marathon & have been posting only Rasam recipes right! That's been a comfort food undoubtedly...a new discovered cooking joy for me has been 'Baking'! I have few old recipes of baking basics.. ya my periamma & amma have tried their hand in this and i managed to get the details in their recipe books.. so every time i find a cookie, shortbread or cake recipe..i know i want too try it & if it includes chocolates..almost immediately :)
More than cakes, biscuits are something i do often..why do i prefer them, if you ask..well the reasons are ...for one its helps me curb my cravings, S loves them & there is no overdose of deserts! During the marathon, when i saw these chic-chip cookies by Suma, i knew i had to do it..She has an amazing list of eggless bakes & i want to try all of them.. So, here's the beginning!

Ginger-Almond Biscuits

I have been planning to bake Ginger biscuits for a while now..dont know why i have been putting it off..In blore, there's a famous bakery called Butter Sponge, where you would get amazing biscuits , the likes of Nankatai, Kesar, Cashew, Khaara & ginger biscuits! So every time, mom went to DVG road, i would get packets of all of them :).. after school, i would get two of my choice biscuit with bournvita. How i miss that now :(
When i saw Kalyani's Magic Mingle, i loved the idea of putting together something, using the magic ingredients! I decided to join the group & Kalyani was sweet enough to accommodate me this very month.. my magic ingredients being Ginger & Almonds!!! I love almonds, but not a great fan of ginger... but the minute i saw ginger, all i could think of ..was Ginger biscuits!! What better time to bake them :)
There are so many recipes of Ginger biscuits...there's cookies, snaps etc etc..seeing all of them, put together what ever  had in my pantry.. Result : Totally worth it! The magic worked :D

I was searching to bake some short breads from Joy of Baking & found one of them very interesting. But sadly, i didn't have the ingredients it asked for :(.. so i replaced them with what i had & made some yummy shortbreads..needless to say..loved every bit of it!

Simple Cupcakes

I just wanted to bake something & when i started searching for recipes...i went mad! There are so many amazing recipes out there..how could i choose just one :(.. After seeing some more recipes, getting inspired( yup! i need to learn so many recipes) and then had my anxiety attacks ( will i ever be able to learn & most importantly remember them :X)... i decided to go back to my book & choose the most basic cake recipe :)

Sponge Cake with Butter Frosting

I wanted to bake a nice cake for a birthday. Was thinking i should pick up something from the Cheesecake Factory. Fancy looking cakes with great decorations, thought that would be great but would spoil the surprise...How could i hide it! So after a lot of deliberation and apprehension i baked this cake...I was so thrilled when it turned out soft and spongy and we loved it!! I got this recipe while browsing and this is definitely a keeper.
