Kothavarangai Paruppu Usili/ Cluster Beans Lentil Curry

Paruppu (Lentil) Usili is a very popular dish and is done on all auspicious occasions be it weddings or festivals! Its called Usili, when we powder the the lentil and mix it with veggies...The best part of this dish is, we can alternate the taste by using different veggies like beans, cluster beans, capsicum, banana flower or even broccoli :)..

Vazakkai Karamedu/ Raw Banana Curry

Raw Banana(Vazha is banana & kai means raw) Karamedu or Poriyal is one of the easiest things to make. You could prepare so many dishes of them..be it chips, bajji's, different types of karamedu..gosh!.
I noticed that i have been constantly rambling about how i will soon get back to blogging..but have never been able to implement it :(.. A lot of things has kept me occupied.. travel, shifting to a new place and blogging unfortunately took a back seat..I am sure i am the ' Forgotten Fossil' of the Blog world :D, but its never too late to get back right.. atleast thats what my mom s been telling me :) n here i am, with a revamp of an old posted recipe..

Cauliflower - Onion Karamedu/Curry

Today for the fourth day of BM, i choose Cauliflower-Onion Curry... I know this is quite common as curry but one of the house favorites ! Amma never made Gobi at home..maybe due to the worms i guess.. So i never developed a taste for it! I started having it only, when Manchurians become popular in Blore.. So for years together this was the only form in which i consumed Gobi...

Kovakkai Podi Karamedu/ Gherkins Spiced Fry

Kovakkai Or Gherkins is one veggie we both like :)..Yesterday i had posted the Curry powder & today i thought i would extend its use to a veggie and choose this as a part of BM 15. Its not necessary to add this powder to the veggie, but its different & a variation is always good right :)

Sagu/Sagoo

Another lazy weekend just went by & i have been in the same mode, so no blogging at all.. if you noticed ;)..I hardly cooked anything elaborate and just made something very basic & we happen to have dinner out :D.. So here i am back with a very simple but tasty dish.
I learnt this dish from my sister & in fact everyone at home calls it Shanthi's Sagu/Sagoo :D..

Capsicum Subzi

This recipe i got it from my periamma, who is a superb cook! She learnt cooking the hard way, post marriage ( yeah! suprising for those days :)) but over the period of time, let me say she mastered the art. She has written down all the recipes she learnt, prepared & before my wedding i wrote down anything & everything i could find :D.. i didn't know like i mentioned in my intro blog post.. abc of ingredients in the kitchen!
This subzi is actually done with carrot & capsicum. I had used up all the carrots, so did the same with capsicum. It looks less colorful but not in taste :).
