Vermicelli Pulao

Vermicelli or Semiya Upma is a good option of Upma but S doesn't like it and its boring to only cook for myself. I had this packet for some time now & was wondering what to make, when i remembered i could make Pulao. My MIL prepares this for my nephew as he likes this a lot & so i recreated the same..its definitely a must try!

8.Water - 2 cups

To Wet Grind
1. Saunf/ fennel - 2tbsp

1. In a pan, add oil and once warm, add vermicelli and roast till it turns light brown. Remove of flame and keep aside
2. In the same pan, add oil, add saunf and once it turns light brown, add finely chopped onions
3. Add garlic-ginger paste and sauté till the onion is translucent or turns light brown
4. Add all finely chopped veggies ( carrot/beans/corn) and sauté well. Add Pulao masala & salt and mix well
5. As this getting done, wet grind the ingredients mentioned with little water to make a fine paste
6. Add this paste to the pan of veggies. Mix well and  let it cook
7. Follow this by adding water ( for 1 cup of vermicelli, add 1-1/2 cup water; so if you increase quantity of vermicelli, increase the water too proportionally!)
8. Keep on medium flame, and when it comes to boil, add the vermicelli and let it cook for around 8-10 minutes
9. The water gets drained and vermicelli is cooked, remove of flame and let it cool for 5-8 minutes
