Menthya Dosa

Today for the fourth day of the Marathon, i choose a very simple dosa called Menthya dosa.. This dosa doesn't look exceptional, looks almost like a sada dosa...What makes it different is, its batter..& to quote my MIL ' Indha dosa pancjhu mari soft aa irrukum' ( this dosa is as soft as cotton :) )..

Now here came the biggest challenge..how do i capture that :).. I struggled to get a decent snap of the dosa & not really pleased with the results.. the only thing that made me happy was  S telling its good and its been a long time since he had such soft dosa :)...

Ingredients
1. Idli Rice - 1 cup
2. Raw rice - 1 cup
3. Urad dal - 1/2 cup
4. Methi/Fenugreek seeds - 1tsp
5. Salt - to tase
6. Oil - to drizzle

Preparation Time!!
1. Take raw rice & idli rice in a bowl & Urad dal and methi seeds in another bowl and soak these in water for upto 3 hrs
2. Drain water and grind the rice to a fine batter using 1 cup water. Transfer to a vessel
3. Blend the Urad dal too starting with 1/4 cup water and add more water (if necessary)and blend to a very fine mixture and mix it with the rice batter
4. Mix them well & let it ferment overnight
5. Next day, add salt to the mixture and mix
6. Add another 1/2 cup of water to the batter & now its all set to make dosa's
7. In a heated pan, add 2 scoops of the batter & make like a regular dosa, drizzling 1 tsp oil all around the dosa

8. Once cooked, flip over and let is cook for another 30 seconds

It tastes best hot and with Coconut chutney.. I also had Coriander chutney..So, that came in handy! Not one of my best days.. but trust me, when i say it is a very soft dosa :)
